Matthew is a seasoned controls engineer with over 15 years of experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing automation systems. He is also a Central Florida native, having grown up on the Space Coast. He holds a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s in Computer Science (specializing in Machine Learning) from Georgia Tech.
Matthew began his career at Siemens, where he gained deep expertise in motion control, PLC programming, systems architecture, and the entire Siemens Automation platform. He also conducted both formal and informal training classes on a variety of Siemens products. He later served as Senior Controls Engineer at Universal Creative, focusing on machine safety and incorporating emerging technologies like computer vision to enhance the safety and performance of their attractions. His next career move took him to Amazon, where he played a pivotal role in rolling out cutting-edge sortation and packaging technologies across their fulfillment network.
